How is this road from Alexandria to Ruston? I will be in a 41' motorhome pulling a car.

Wide open. Took that route back from AR Thursday. No current construction. Watch your speed in those small towns and you'll be fine. Happy trails!

It's a decent road, not great but shouldn't have any problems.

If you want an alternative route, you can go up to Coushatta on I49 then take US Hwy 371 north to Minden and go down I-20. It's farther but only a few minutes longer but a much shorter time spend in BFE.

BFE?

If 167 is a four lane road all the way I rather take it. Hwy. 371 is a two lane road.

Yeah but there is never any traffic on 371. Worst I've seen it is like on a Sunday morning after a 3 day weekend and the convoy of rvs and trailers carrying 4 wheelers are leaving muddy bottoms and heading home

Bum Fudge Egypt... Only I didn't say "Fudge." I said THE word, the big one, the queen-mother of dirty words, the "F-dash-dash-dash" word!

If 167 is a four lane road

It is. I've made that stretch between Alexandria and Ruston more times than I can count.

There were a couple of areas where it got down to two lanes (Dry Prong) but they fixed it over the last few years and its 4 now. Except for a few areas north of Pineville and through the Kisatchi Forest it's all fairly fresh pavement, and even in the worst sections I wouldn't call it "bad" at all.

Mind your speed through Dry Prong and especially Dodson (got a ticket for 47 in a 45) and you're good to go.

It's really not a bad drive at all.

I don't know. That seems like it would add quite a bit more than a few minutes.

And speaking of Coushatta. How'd they fare the other last during those storms? Radar showed a big cell rotating not far from them.

Didn't realize they made 167 4 lanes the whole way, I was thinking part of it was 2 lane. So yeah, not worth going up to 371 but it's only like 15 minutes longer.

That storm looked horrific on radar, thought I was going to pull up to a missing town but thankfully the damage was only minor. It got an EF2 rating but I saw nothing to justify that rating, most of it was weak EF0 type stuff.
